Educator as Researcher Book Club
Professional Book Clubs:
Professional Book Clubs are recognized as a valid form of professional development (Donohue, Van Tassel & Patterson, 1996) and offer structure that encourages reading, and more importantly rich dialogue, about educational issues. This structure allows educators the opportunity to initiate and engage in a self directed professional development activity that is of interest and relevant to their situation. Professional Book Clubs must be completed within one school year. Target Participants: Teams of educators from elementary, middle and secondary schools. Frameworks: Groups can choose to share their projects in a format of choice, i.e. blog, video, journal.
