Privacy Awareness Micro Training #1: Introduction to Security Awareness
Cyber threats to educational institutions have been growing exponentially. Educational institutions have numerous vulnerabilities when it comes to cybersecurity. This is due in part to the extensive use of educational technologies and digital tools, the adoption of bring-your-own-devices and the lack of trained cybersecurity professionals.
Privacy Awareness Micro Training #2: Phishing
Cybercriminals craft legitimate-looking emails that encourage recipients to take action such as clicking a link or opening an attachment.
There has been an alarming growth of sophisticated phishing attacks that target educational institutions. These attacks can have a devastating impact including the invasion of student, parent and staff rights and privacy, financial loss and even system and district closures.

Privacy Awareness Micro Training #3: Data Security for Educators
Educational institutions have an obligation to protect the data they collect, store and use for educational purposes. School-related data is a lucrative target for criminals. The volume of data travelling through and being stored by schools and school districts is exploding, increasing the risk of a cyberattack.
Criminals have been targeting educational institutions more than other organizations. The average cost of a data breach in 2022 was 4.82 million dollars. In addition to financial loss, school districts face the exposure of sensitive student, parent and staff data, disruption of programming and the loss of public trust.
